This chair is designed to be used in a diverse range of environments - from Norman and medieval churches through Victorian gothic, to modern architecture.
To change seating formations in church halls, for a diversity of purposes, three key words were in mind during the design process - stackable, linking and robustness.
Together with constructive feedback we received from the award ceremony, we are developing this chair with a British manufacturer for making it available to churches in the near future.
英国国教会が主催したデザイン・コンペティションでグランプリを受賞した椅子です。
地域のコミュニティーに開かれた場所として、教会の空間を音楽会や会食の場所として貸し出す例が増えています。それに応じて、スタッキングができ、目的あわせたアレンジが可能で、さらに中世から現代までの幅がある、さまざまな建築様式にも馴染むような新しいデザインが求められました。
この椅子は、古色ゆかしい教会のインテリアにも溶け込み、規律を感じさせるベンチのようなアレンジも可能で、永年の使用に耐える - そんな厳しい条件にみあうようデザインしました。
