J+I Cloud Mobile, Sampietro
'From heavy chunk of metal to a large airy mobile.'
An airy mobile made using traditional techniques for architectural ironwork, such as gates and balustrades, which Sampietro has inherited from Italian wrought iron artisans.
We designed an expansion of size - from compact package to a large spacial object, and also transformed the image of heavy iron into floating objects, by appling Sampietro's precise metal fabrication heritage.
This is one of the J+I projects, which was launched as a part of the Hands on Design exhibition at Milan fuori Salone, in April 2014.
『小さな鉄の入れ子が空間にたゆたう雲のモビールに』
イタリアの建築金物の伝統を受け継ぐ工房Sampietroの作った、空間にたゆたう雲のモビールです。
組み立てる前はピザの箱を2つ横に並べたサイズで、入れ子になって収まった24個の雲を空間に広げると2メートル x 2.5メートルのモビールになります。Sampietroの繊細な技術で、鉄の重さが空間に広がる軽やかさに変わります。
この作品はJ+Iプロジェクトから生まれ、サローネ期に開催されたHands on Designの展示の一部として、2014年に発表しました。展示会の様子はJDN（ジャパン・デザイン・ネット）で紹介されています。
