'Live/work unit in Hackney, London.'
The premises was built as a toy factory in the 1920's, then converted into live/work units in 1996. I refurbished the whole interior and installed fire doors and room dividers, using Crittall windows for evocative elements of old industry. The wooden door/wall panel in the dining area is made from timber off-cuts from the waste yard of one of our clients. Behind the door is a bathroom.
Haybridge House Studio, 2004
1920年代におもちゃ工場だった建物の内部を改装し、スタジオとキッチン、ベッドルームを併設したリノベーションです。工場の雰囲気を残しつつ、奥行き15メートルの空間の中央まで外光を届けるために、間仕切りに採用したのは工場や体育館の建物に使われる、L字綱を使ったガラス壁やドアのシステム Crittall windows です。下階のミーティング兼ダイニングの背後のドアは、家具工場の廃棄木材を使って作りました。
