Combining Ercol's specialities of steam bending and modern jointing, which are all finished by hand, FLOW is designed to bridge Ercol's classical mind to the contemporary dining scene, with ethical usage of materials. In addition to the ergonomics, we especially paid attention to its back view - for multiple usage with long dining tables, they add charm to your interior scene.
FLOW is stackable as well, for customer's floor management and space saving for shipping.
『ウィンザーチェアの伝統をやわらかく今の暮らしに持ち込む』
1920年代からウィンザーチェアを作っているアーコール社が洗練させてきた、廃棄素材が少ないスチーム曲げ木の技術を活かすこと。英国的な表情も持ちながら、現代のインテリアに置けるコンパクトな椅子をデザインする。その2つの課題に加え、インテリアの一部として目にする「後ろ姿」をチャーミングにすることも考えました。技術者とのやりとりと試作を経て、CN切削の技術に曲げ木を加えた製法になりました。
スタッキングするので、空間を多目的に使え、搬送時の環境負荷も減らします。日本でのアーコール社の代理店はダニエルです。
