「海外で勝負する4人の日本人の仕事力」という副題の本が、六耀社より発売になりました。
日本企業の海外進出を担った方、パリの老舗カフェのギャルソン、NYで活躍するメークアップアーティストの3氏と共に安積朋子も、川島蓉子さんのインタビューを受け仕事やその背景が紹介していただきました。特に、英国最高裁判所の家具のデザインについて、たくさんお話をしました。「海を越えたNIPPON魂」と言われるには少々おもはゆい、自分としては「人間万事塞翁が馬」的なストーリーではありますが、、、他の3方の物語にもとても励まされますし、書店でお見かけの際には手にとってご覧ください。
A book written by Yoko Kawashima, on four Japanese who is working abroad, has published by Rikuyosha. If you translate the title, it would be.. 'Stick Out from Japan'.

サローネ時期のミラノで開催された『Charity Box』展にお越し頂いたたくさんの方々、ありがとうございました。オープニング・パーティーの晩にすでにロンドンに戻る機内だったため、せっかくお越し頂いた方々にお会い出来なかったのが残念です。
『Charity Box』のHPにも会場の様子が掲載され、全作品とデザイナーの紹介がアップされました。たくさんの義援金が集まったようで、その報告も近々される予定です。

Our friends Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of KleinDytham Architects are organising a huge global PechaKucha day on 16th April around the world titled "Inspire Japan".
Tomoko will be sending recorded messages from Milan about the Charity Box project she took part.
Proceeds from Inspire Japan will go directly to Architecture for Humanity (AFH).

On the March 11, Japan suffered what has been described as a 1000 year event. The earthquake and tsunami destroyed 400km of coastline, killing over 10,000 people, leaving 400,000 people homeless, and has triggered a nuclear situation that is still unfolding.
Japan has inspired designers for many generations, it is the reason we travelled to this country 20 years ago, and have since made it our home. Japan is where the "PechaKucha 20 images x 20 seconds" show-and-tell event format was born, and it has gone on to inspire designers to get together in 400 cities around the world, to share their creativity at more than 1000 events each year.
Japan has inspired us all, now is it our turn to "Inspire Japan."
Please join us on April 16 and be a part of Global PechaKucha Day - Inspire Japan. Let's all come together and show Japan that the creative world is thinking of them, that all is not lost, and that it is possible to stand up and rebuild, even in villages and towns which have been completely destroyed. With creativity and passion, anything is possible.

A series of rings 'Twirl', we designed for Biegel from Frankfurt is featured in Italian on-line magazine Jewellery Scape.
The pictured one in the article is made of Gold and Agate and another type with Silver and Hematite, picture on the left column, is available, too.
フランクフルトのジュエリーメーカー Biegel のためにデザインした『Twirl』がイタリア発のジュエリーデザインサイトに掲載されました。記事の中に写真のあるものはゴールドと白瑪瑙の組み合わせ、左の欄にある写真はシルバーとヘマタイトという鉱石です。
Exhibition 'Objective' was shown on BBC World, a part of London Design Festival, Shorditch bicycle tour hosted by Max Fraser of London Design Guide.
